The Boyfriendcasting Episode Berlin 1.1 Haus am Lützowplatz. TRAILER COLLECTION
Die Live-Performance »The Boyfriend-Casting«
deren Freiheit unreflektiert zelebriert.

The live performance "The
Boyfriend-Casting" examines today's forms of advertising interpersonal
affection. With casting shows and dating gapps, this has now become part of a
public, capitalist consumer culture. Commodity fetishism has extended to the
realm of 'love' and, even where the consumption of things is all too often
critically and intellectually questioned, it is still celebrated unreflected
under the guise of the bohemian and its freedom. What forms of relationships
are we (still) capable of today? In the public joint performance, dating
candidates were examined by a jury within the framework of a staged talent show
that, decided on a new partner for the artist on behalf of Schomburg. The jury
was set up of the artist's private and professional companions. In the course
of the evening they carried out what could best be described as the outsourcing
of emotions.

Stolen Images, Ausstellungsinstallation
Stolen Images (2018)

The exhibition installation "Stolen
Images" is a contuation of Schomburg's preoccupation with the value and
character nature of artistic collaborations. As an exhibition in the
exhibition, "Stolen Images" brings togethergathers over 30 artists in
a separate room. A mirror sculpture is placed at the center of the
installation At the centre of the work
is a mirror sculpture, which is partly a serves as a projection surface for
works, but essentially becomes a multiplier for the visual references of the
group exhibition’s visual references. With the help of a controllable drone
camera, tThis dynamized gaze can be further enhanced with the help of a
controllable drone camera. Using a mobile phone interface, visitors send a the
drone through the exhibition space and observe the flying object’s perspective
of the flying object on the screen of the device. Behind all this, In the
background is the question of the possibilities of experiencing individuality
in the context of a collective. Schomburg raises the question of how
individuality can be experienced in the context of a collective.
