»The Idling Gallery« ist ein solidarisches
Ausstellungsprojekt, welches sich der Produktivität von Kollektiven zuwendet.
Ausgangspunkt ist die Auseinandersetzung mit Ranking Systemen, die unter
anderem aus der Häufigkeit sowie den Künstlerlisten von Gruppenausstellungen das
Gewicht einer künstlerischen Position bemisst. Dieses Bewertungssystem hat
deutliche Effekte auf die Politik gegenwärtiger Ausstellungseinladungen und
Künstlernetzwerke. Dem »Idling Mobile« folgte so das Projekt »Idling Gallery«,
welches 2014 bereits in einem ersten Testlauf 150 Künstlerinnen und Künstler
aus Berlin und Deutschland miteinander bekannt machte. Ziel des fortwährenden
Projektes in die Einladung möglichst vieler Gruppenausstellungen im
Arbeitsatelier der Künstlerin. Gegenstand der nicht ausschließlich auf ein
Thema ausgerichteten Ausstellungen ist dabei die Kollage ungewöhnlich vieler
künstlerischer Positionen. »The Idling Gallery« stellt die zusammengetragenen
Werke als Gesamtkomposition aus, welche die einzelnen Werke inhaltlich neu sortiert.
"The Idling Gallery" is an a
solidary exhibition project in solidarity, which focuses focusing on the
productivity of collectives. The starting point is the examination ofIt is
rooted in the examination of ranking systems, which measure an artist’s value by
the frequency and the artist lists of their group exhibitions, among other
things, measure the weight of an artistic position from the frequency and
artist lists of group exhibitions. This evaluation system has clear effects on
the politics of current exhibition invitations and artist networks.
Consequently, “The Idling Gallery” followed tThe "Idling Mobile" was
followed by the "Idling Gallery" project, which in 2014 alreadyand
introduced 150 artists from Berlin and Germany to each other in a first test run
in 2014 alone. The aim of the ongoing project is to invite as many group
exhibitions as possible to the artist's studio. The subject of the exhibitions,
which do not focus exclusively focus on a single theme, is the a collage of an
unusually large number of artistic positions. "The Idling Gallery"
presents the collected works as a holisticn
